Data, Projects & Reports, Tools & Applications > Delaware Greenhouse Gas Inventory

Last update: July 7, 2026

In December 2025, the DNREC Division of Air Quality published Delaware’s Greenhouse Gas Inventory for 2022. The Division of Air Quality prepares the inventory to characterize Delaware’s historical and projected GHG emissions, and thereby inform the policy option development process.

The Greenhouse Gas Inventory reports present data and analyses on the following greenhouse gases (GHGs); carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), and nitrogen trifluoride (NF3).

The reports provide information on the activities that caused emissions and removals, as well as background information on the methods used to estimate the emissions.

The GHG inventory has four key objectives:

  • Identify and characterize greenhouse gases emissions sources and sinks,
  • Quantify greenhouse gases emissions and removal from sources and sinks,
  • Document the emission inventory data and analytical results, and
  • Document the greenhouse gases inventory data sources.

The 2022 Greenhouse Gas Inventory is available here. A summarized fact sheet of the 2022 Inventory is available here.
