Projects & Reports > Delaware Wetland Program Plan
In 2026, DNREC’s Wetland Monitoring and Assessment Program released the 2026-2030 Wetland Program Plan. The Plan is an updated report to previous iterations published in 2021, 2015, 2011, and 2008. It outlines 41 action items across seven goals to prioritize and select future projects for improving Delaware’s capacity to conserve and enhance wetlands. The objectives of the plan are to (1) gather data for wetland monitoring and assessment, (2) inform effective regulation for wetland permitting and mitigation, (3) protect and restore wetlands, and (4) educate citizens and visitors of Delaware about the function, services, and critical importance of wetlands.
